It is a well known fact that the majority of female to male transsexuals eventually go stealth. For those of you who may not understand what this means I'll explain. Living in stealth for a transsexual man means he is living as a male and either chooses not to disclose the information at all or he limits the information he gives and to whom he gives it to.

In real life I only disclose this fact in need to know situations. For the most part that only includes doctors and sexual partners. We struggle so long to be viewed as a "normal" guy and to live a "normal" life. When we get to the point where we can do so it just natural for us to fade into the stealth lifestyle.

Where the confusion comes in for me is when I ask myself this question. How can I continue to live a comfortable "normal" life as a guy yet still be able to be an active advocate for my fellow transsexual brothers and sisters? It was ultimately that question that motivated me to create this site. Since creating and publishing this site I have lived non stealth online and stealth offline.

In many ways this is productive but I can't help but be reminded of how this is exactly the situation I was in pre-coming out and pre transition. I was out to online friends but not in real life. I guess it is different for each of us. There is no right or wrong, win or lose. Those who have the desire to advocate have to go about it in a manner that meets the needs of their situation.

Someone commented the other day saying "It is not your responsibility to educate those about you." While I agree that I don't owe anyone an explanation of why I am who I am, I think for "me" to not do what I can to educate folks on transsexuals would be negligent. Who would be better qualified to provide information on transsexuals than a transsexual? And if it is not my responsibility, who's is it? If every LGBT member passed the responsibility on to someone else, who would we have as advocates?

I can not do near as much as I'd like but I will not use that as an excuse to sit back and do nothing. Kudos to those in the community who are able to do so much to help the trans community!

I have started on an advocacy section but there is much work to be done to complete it. It has basic information at this time but I will be adding to it as I am able.
